Hello and welcome back. The second build presented today is another -100% recharge character, this type one that primarily uses the Rogue skill Throwing Knife to do damage. This build tries to take advantage of the massive amount of + piercing damage %, daggers' ability to shoot through enemies as well as their unique property of taking up properties from weapons and abilities that other skills do not. The best thing about this build is that you only absolutely need to max the mastery (which you would do anyway), Throwing Knife and Flurry of Knives for it to work. You will, of course, want to max other skills that support your knives and push it into the coveted role of best mob killer in the game (really). I didn't spend as much playing this as I would have liked, primarily because my mouse's right button is malfunctioning which makes constantly using it to attack a drag. Even so, this build was considerably more powerful than 90% of the builds I've tried in Titan Quest throughout my playlife.
Before I get to the gear I'd like to go over other supporting skill options:
From the Rogue tree
Evenom Weapons and its support skills are awesome. With the slow and confusion you'll stop charing enemies in their tracks while your daggers tear them to shreds.
Lay Traps: Decent support, although I mostly used them as distractions while my daggers tore into enemy mobs.
Blade Honing: I was using Onager as my weapon so I didn't put points into this. If you're not having mana problems replace your weapon with a spear or a sword and go for it though, it's quite helpful (especially the increased base piercing damage)
Don't bother with Lethal Strike or Poison Gas Bomb. I realise spamming these skills might be tempting, but Lethal Strike will miss a crapload of subsequent hits after the first one and Poison Gas Bomb's piercing component hardly ever hits, and when it does it leaves me underwhelmed (to say the least).
Second Mastery
I went with Earth (and wish I hadn't, but that's another story) for the core dweller.
TitanCalc build here.
Suffice to say both the Core Dweller and Earth Enchantment help. Storm, on the other hand, would've probably been more beneficial, as would hunting. Hunting for the extra piercing damage and piercing damage reduction, and storm (my preferred alternate), for a multitude of reasons:
Huge elemental damage. In particular, the Tracker's Hood adds a decent amount of lightning damage to your daggers. Throw the Lykaion Malleus in the mix and you're in business.
Squall: reduces resistances and impaired aim doesn't hurt either.
Equipment
Head: Tracker's Hood. No discussion. Huge -recharge, huge +% piercing damage, and lighting damage as a bonus if you go with storm.
Wrists: Archmage's clasp. cast speed to spam daggers faster, huge -recharge If you have a high -recharge Tracker's Hood and Archmage's Clasp you only need about -10-15% more -recharge Weapon: Lykaion Malleus if you're storm. Onager or some sword with lots of piercing if you're anything else.
Leggings: Your pick
Amulet: your pick. polaris is good if you're earth
Rings: Apollo's. No disucssion. The 100+ % piercing damage is excellent
Artifact: Your pick In general, try to get your casting speed to 300, and invest in piercing damage and dexterity (strength won't help like it does with weapon based piercing builds because dagger piercing damage isn't a % of normal damage).
